Our Beloved Mother, MARGARET M. BARD, passed to Jesus on March 19, 2010. Born Mary Margaret Mershon on March 21, 1926, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the eldest child of Milton and Ruth Mershon. She graduated from the University of Tulsa in 1947 with a Bachelor of Economics, and was in Who's Who. Margaret married Edmund Francis Bard III in 1950, and they had almost 60 happy years together until his death in 2009. They had 3 children, Edmund, a nurse in Walpole, New Hampshire; Dory Mayer, a teacher in San Angelo, Texas; and Robert, a Houston attorney, plus 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Along with these, Margaret is survived by her sister Dorothy Armisted, sisters-n-law Charlene Mershon and Bonnie Bard, plus numerous cousins, neices and nephews, and many wonderful friends. All her life she was an avid cardplayer and often played championship bridge. She also worked as a fashion model, volunteered at Hermann Hospital, and continuing her legacy, she has donated her remains to Medical Science. Margaret will be buried with her husband in the Houston Veteran's cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Harbor Hospice or Lupus Research. "Our Family Tree is broken, and nothing remains the same, But as God calls us one by one the Chain will link again"
