LuEtta Mae (Mesner) Dau was born on Friday; August 14, 1931 in O'Brien County, Iowa. She was the daughter of John and Sophie (Ebert) Mesner. She was baptized on August 31, 1931 at Saint John Lutheran Church in Germantown; O'Brien County, Iowa by Pastor Steger. LuEtta received her grade school education at Saint John Lutheran School in Germantown, Iowa. She was confirmed on April 14, 1946 by Pastor Jergens at The Saint John Lutheran Church. She attended high school in Paullina; O'Brien County, Iowa and graduated in May of 1950. LuEtta was united in marriage to Leslie Dau of Holstein, Iowa on March 30, 1952. The couple farmed the family farm until retiring and moving to Paullina; O'Brien County, Iowa in February of 1993. She was a lifelong member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Germantown, and the Ladies Aid of the church. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a member of the Northwest Iowa Polio survivors. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking and making meals for all of them. LuEtta Mae (Mesner) Dau, age: 82, passed away on Wednesday April 2, 2014 at her home in Paullina, Iowa. Those left to mourn her passing are her: husband: Les of Paullina, Iowa. Her three children: Marcia and her husband, Duane Ryken of Sioux Falls; Minnehaha County, South Dakota; Pastor Lynnford and his wife: Ginger Dau of Foxhome; Wilkin County, Minnesota and Nathan and his wife: Wendy Dau of Cocoa; Brevard County, Florida. Her four grandchildren: Tricia and her husband: Matt Nussbaum of Chicago; Cook County, Illinois; Matthew and his wife: Amber Ryken of Beresford; Union County, South Dakota; Leann and her husband: Nicholas Roberts of Stillwater; Washington County, Minnesota; Carrie Dau of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Her three great grandchildren: Everett Ryken, Benjamin and Madilynn Roberts; also other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Leroy Mesner and two sisters, Marcella Appeldorn and Ella Appeldorn; also step brothers and step sisters. May they rest in peace and may Our deepest sympathies go out to you and your family. May God give you the comfort and peace that you seek and may the souls of your loved ones rest in peace. Visitation will be after 3:00 p.m. on Sunday; April, 6, 2014 with the family present from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at The Eldridge Family Funeral Home in Paullina. Funeral Services will begin at: 10:30 a.m. on Monday; April 7, 2014 at The Saint John Lutheran Church in Germantown, Iowa with The Reverend Donald Erickson ~ Officiating. Interment will be at the Saint John Lutheran Cemetery in Germantown, Iowa. The Eldridge Family Funeral Home in Paullina, Iowa is entrusted with the arrangements and the care of the family.
