Bertha M. Belden
BELOIT — Bertha M. Belden, 84, Beloit, died Tuesday at the Mitchell County Hospital after a long illness.
Mrs. Belden was born Nov. 22, 1899, on a farm near Randall. She lived on farms in the Beloit and Scottsville area until moving to Beloit in 1946, where she operated a rest home until 1973.
She was a member of the Beloit First Christian Church; Beloit VFW and American Legion auxiliaries; and the Beloit Extension Home Unit.
Her husband, Floyd, died in 1977.
She is survived by one son, Owen, Knoxville, Tenn.; two daughters, Charlene Schmidt, Glasco, and Elizabeth Conner, McCracken; three brothers, Albert Milholland, Smelterville, Idaho; Vernon Milholland, Spokane, Wash., and Morris Milholland, Post Falls, Idaho; two sisters, Lucy Steppe, Beloit, and Bupha Slate, Jewell; nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the McDonald Funeral Home in Beloit, the Rev. Mac Lee officiating. Burial is at the Elmwood Cemetery in Beloit. Memorials can be made to the Solomon Valley Hospice. Friends may call at the funeral home.
