Carol Elaine Ekins passed into the arms of Jesus on March 24, 2016. She waited to take her last breath until her son was at her side. Carol was born in Bellingham, Wash. to Irving and Ila Miller on January 29, 1946. She was preceded in death by her mother (Ila), father (Irving); sister (Maryann), brothers (Charles Miller and Richard Miller); spouse (Velores Ekins); her beloved grandson (Justin Freeman). She is survived by her brother and sisters;: Ken Miller (Robyn), Cheryl Daves, and Linda Christianson (Leonard); sons: Charles (Tony) Freeman, Scott Freeman; and grandchildren: Brittany Freeman, Brandie Gaylor, Kyle Freeman, Nicholas Freeman, and her great-grandchildren: Gauge Gaylor, Mary Ann Freeman and Leighton Gaylor. Carol attended culinary school and was a wonderful inventive cook. She worked for many years at the Salvation Army and attended the Salvation Army Church. Carol loved all animals, but especially loved cats. She spent most of her time, sewing special blankets and clothes for her friends and family.
