Mrs. Fitting, Resident of Port 48 Years, is Buried
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Fitting, 80, a former resident of Port Washington, were held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Ritter Funeral Home, Milwaukee, where the Rev. F.L. Rodenbeck of Friedens Evangelical Church, Port Washington, officiated at the rites. Interment was made in the Pinelawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Fitting, nee Miller, was born in Germany on June 24, 1867, and was married there to Carl Fitting in 1889. Two years later they came to this country, settling in Connecticut, then lived for a brief time in Milwaukee and Cedarburg, and then for 48 years in Port Washington. In 1943 they moved to Milwaukee where Mr. Fitting died in November, 1944.
Mrs. Fitting, who had been confined to her bed the past 14 weeks, died Thursday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Walter Werking, at 2940 N. 38th Street.
Survivors are two sons, Charles G. and Walter W. Fitting, and one daughter, Mrs. Emily M. Werking, all of Milwaukee; also three grandchildren and one great grandchild.
