Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel. Family will greet friends from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be held in the North Lawn Cemetery.
Mildred was born February 17, 1923 to Otto and Anna (Jacobsen) Momsen in Jackson Township Sac County, Iowa. She grew up in the Sac City area and graduated from Newell High School. She attended business school in Fort Dodge. Mildred was a secretary for Rosedale Creamery. She left her job to go home and help care for her mother. After her mother’s passing, Mildred stayed and helped her dad raise her younger brother, Ronnie and helped with the farming. After her father’s passing, she returned to Rosedale Creamery. Mildred then worked for Celotex for 25 years before retiring.
On September 18, 1965, Mildred was united in marriage to Maurice J. Hill. She was a very active member of the Methodist Church and was a member of the U.M.W. group. She and Maurice liked to dance, fish and spend time in the garden. She was like a mother to her eight nieces and nephews and will be deeply missed.
Mildred is survived by her husband of 49 years, Maurice J. Hill; sister Vera Morse of Storm Lake; nieces and nephews, Judy (Richard) Hartsell, Mary Lou (Farrell Lee) Sirvoy, Virginia (Keith) Dobler, Linda Medsker, Calvin (Jennifer) Morse, Douglas Morse, Chris Momsen and Curt Momsen; and several great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, sister and brother-in-law Arlene and Bernard Oakland, brother and sister-in-law Ronald and Betty Momsen and brothers-in-law Frank Morse and Byran Hill.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
