Barbara J. (Monaco) Clancy, age 73, formerly of Pembroke and East Boston passed away on Sunday August 30, 2009 after a long illness. Born in East Boston to the late Americo and Frances (Gutman) Monaco, Barbara was raised and educated there and had lived in Pembroke for 47 years. She was a former employee of 24 years for the Polaroid Corp. where she worked as a Bookkeeper to the Trades in both New Bedford and Norwood. Barbara is survived by her children, Peter E. Clancy, II married to Cheryl A. of Braintree, Denise MacDonald married to Harold of Pembroke and Cheryl A. St.Angelo of Rockland. Loving sister of Judith Repici of Revere and the late Carolyn Monaco. Proud grandmother of 6 loving grandchildren and 3 great-grandchild. Also survived by her former husband Peter E. Clancy of Halifax. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of the Lake Church, Monponsett St., Halifax on Thursday 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Pembroke. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours in the McDonald Funeral Home, SOUTH WEYMOUTH, at 809 Main St. (Rte 18 opp. South Shore Hospital) on Wednesday 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimers Assoc. at www.alz.org.
