Arthur A. Monnette, born November 16, 1875 in Marion County, Ohio where he spent his childhood. The only child of Melvin H. Monnette and Ella Carmean Monnette.

Service to Country: Spanish American War, Fourth Regiment Ohio Volunteer Infantry Company: Company G - Marion (Ohio); rank of Private.

A longtime resident of Reno, Nevada, he was a musician by trade. He also was a miner during Nevada's gold and silver rush from 1905-1920. He was actively involved in veterans affairs while a resident of Reno.

Monnette was a nephew of Mervin J. Monnette, whose successful lease of the Mohawk Mine netted Nevada's richest strikes of gold ore.

Married to Angeletta (Letta) Hill (nee Smith) in Indianapolis, Indiana on September 11, 1911. She died in 1940, there were no children. A second marriage ended in divorce. He was also preceded in death by his parents.

Died July 22, 1961, burial at Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno California.
