Corella Lee Bisping

Durango resident Corella Lee Bisping died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, after a brief stay at The Valley Inn in Mancos. She was 82.

Mrs. Bisping was born to Clarence and Rebecca Monnette on Aug. 25, 1930, in Manteno, Ill. One of four children, she grew up and attended schools in Manteno.

On Dec. 5, 1950, she married Marvin Lee Bisping in Monee, Ill. They lived in Peotone, Ill., before moving to Durango for their retirement in 1985.

The Bispings deeply enjoyed their family, driving many miles and spending hours of vacation time with their children and grandchildren, her family said.

Mrs. Bisping continued her cross-country trips after her husband's death. She became involved with a close network of friends she met after being referred by the Women's Resource Center to a grief support group they named Widows In Need of Group Support.

She is survived by her daughters Robin Awe and Rhonda Bisping, both of Durango; sons Richard Bisping of San Antonio and Randy Bisping of Spring Lake, Mich.; sister Marlene Hamilton of Columbia, S.C.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, in Peotone.

Memorial contributions and/or referrals may be sent to the Women's Resource Center of Durango, 679 East Second Ave., Suite 6, Durango, CO 81301.
