Anita Fabian Monnette was a woman who did things and got things accomplished. Before she was a wife and a mother of two, she entered the school of nursing at Mt. Carmel Hospital (Columbus) in 1939. During World War II, she answered her nation's call to duty and entered the Army Nurse Corps. She was stationed in England in 1943. Following her return stateside, she worked in her profession. Anita married Paul I. Monnette, and the couple had two children. Anita loved flowers, and some of her happiest time was spent working at Hemmerley's Florist in Marion. In retirement, she and Paul settled in Florida but were always on the move traveling from one place to another, seeing the country, family, and friends.
