Lucaria Montano Aragon, 89, passed away on Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at Socorro General Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 13, 1918 in Socorro, NM to Labriano and Tircia (Montoya) Montano. She is preceded in death by her husband, Max Aragon; daughter, Anna Maria Zimmerly; brothers: Frank, Manuel, Estanislado and Joe Montano. Lucaria is survived by her son, Max Aragon Jr. and wife, Mayme of Socorro; daughter, Jennie T. Gonzales and husband, Philip of Socorro; a grandson, Raymond Pargas; 3 nephews, Eloy, Arthur and Leanzo Montano; and niece, Darlene Cordova, all of whom she raised as her own children; 22 grandchildren; 52 great grandchildren; and over 25 great, great grandchildren. A Rosary was recited on Friday, August 24, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at San Miguel Catholic Church in Socorro with celebration of the Funeral Mass immediately following. Father John C. Daniel as Celebrant. Burial was in the San Miguel Cemetery. Pallbearers were Harold Rick Torres, Paul Gonzales, Max Aragon III, Benny Montano, Joe Montano and Derick Pargas. Arrangements were under the care of Steadman-Hall Funeral Home, 309 Garfield, Socorro, NM.
