Dora was always artistic, and after retirement took up oil painting and produced many beautiful pictures which her family and friends continue to cherish. Dora and Fred bought a motor home (which they named Rosie) and took several trips across the country. In spite of Dora's allergies, she always had a soft heart for four-legged friends and kept a dog and a cat (and a box of Kleenex) near her. After Fred passed away in 2002, Dora moved into Mission Commons Retirement Apartments in Redlands, where she lived until 2009 when she moved in with her daughter and family in Apple Valley, California. In her later years, Dora enjoyed spending time with her family: Nancy and Randy Lee and their children, Corbin and Amarie; Dixie and Alan Scrivener, and their daughter Charlotte; and her son Jim Barnum.
Dora will be laid to rest next to her husband at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, California.
