Ansel Moore of Orange Park, Fla., formerly of Greenville, passed away July 12, 2001, at his home at the age of 79.

He was born March 18, 1922, in Iva, South Carolina, next to the youngest of 12 children, to Henry and Jennie Moore. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in World War II, and retired from the U.S. Postal Service following 30 years of dedicated service. Prior to moving to Orange Park in 1996, Ansel enjoyed membership at Augusta Heights Baptist Church in Greenville. He was an avid fisherman, golfer, Atlanta Braves and Clemson Tigers fan, and loved the outdoors and animals. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 59 years, Geraldine Moore; his daughter, Becky Pinson and her husband Michael; his granddaughter, Kelly Register and her husband Matthew; his grandson, Ryan Vaughan; his great-grandson, Kyle Register; four sisters; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 5 to 6:30 p.m. today at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, July 15, 2001, at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown Chapel.

Mr. Moore will be laid to rest at Greenville Memorial Gardens with his daughter, Jennie Ann Moore, who passed away in 1993. Services under the direction of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home in Greenville.

Family suggests memorial donations be made to The Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257.
