LANCASTER, Wis. -- Ruth M. Moore, 98, of Lancaster, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008, at the Lancaster Care Center.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Lancaster Care Center Chapel, with Pastor David Arevalo officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Mineral Point. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Friday at the chapel. The Schwartz Funeral Home, Lancaster, is in charge of arrangements.
She was born on Aug. 11, 1909, in Iowa County, Wis., daughter of Harry and Grace (Richardson) McIntosh.
She married Victor Moore on Aug. 11, 1926, in Galena, Ill.; he preceded her in death in 1998. Together they owned and operated Garrison Grove Cheese Factory in Dodgeville and Ideal Cheese Factory in Fennimore. Later they operated Homer Cheese Factory in Hickory Grove Township. In 1970, the couple retired and moved to Lancaster.
Ruth was a member of the Calvary Community Church in Lancaster. Her main goal in life was to be a homemaker and raise her family. Ruth enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are two daughters, Eileen Rice, of Lancaster, and Marilyn (Roger) Hirsch, of Dodgeville; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 21 great-great grandchildren; a sister, Joyce Brandes, of Boscobel; and nieces and nephews.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Carolyn Gardner; two sons-in-law, Gerald Gardner and Claudie Rice Jr.; a sister, Edith Mahoney; brothers: Milo, Vernon "Bud," Kenneth and Glen; and a grandson-in-law, Darryl Gallinger.
