Helen Ruth (Moore) Franklin was born March 31, 1942, in Kansas City, Missouri to Basil and Lena Moore.
Peaches, as she was affectionately known, transitioned from this earthly home on Thursday, October 2, 2014, at the Kindred Hospital Northland.
Helen was preceded in death by both parents, a son, Jewel Smith, and two nephews, George L. Strong, Jr. and Tyson L. White.
Helen received her primary and secondary education in the Kansas City School District. She lived a vibrant life in Los Angeles, California before returning to Kansas City in 1994, suffering a stroke that left her incapacitated living in an assisted care facility until her death. Even though she could no longer walk, she always greeted you with that beautiful smile and humor as only she could.
Helen Ruth Franklin leaves to mourn and cherish her memories, two sisters, Betty J. Strong and Delores Heard (Jimmie) of Kansas City, Missouri; a son, Monroe A. Franklin, Jr. of Kansas City, Missouri; nieces, Carmen Douglas (Bishop Frank) and Pamela Jackson (James) of Kansas City, Missouri; and a host of great-nieces and nephews, great great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Helen Ruth Franklin will be held on Saturday, October 11, 11:00 a.m. at The Lawrence A. Jones and Sons Funeral Chapel, 1800 E. Linwood Blvd.
Interment, Blue Ridge Lawn Cemetery.
