MRS. BENNETT DIES
Mrs. Mary Bennett of Clyde died at the home of her son John Bennett on Wednesday evening, Sept 03, 1919, after a lingering illness. Obituary next week.

OBITUARY-BENNETT
Mary Bennett, wife of Daniel O. Bennett, died at the home of her son J.B. Bennett, Wednesday, Sept. 3rd, after a lingering illness of old age and general debility at the age of 85 years.
Deceased was born in Pennsylvania near Wilkes-Barre where she spent her childhood days. She came west with her father Patrick Moore in the late 40's and settled on a homestead in the town of Highland and adjoining towns, being one of the pioneer teachers of Iowa County. On Januarary 25th 1866 she was united in marriage with Daniel O. Bennett and engaged in farming on the groom's farm in the town of Highland. To this union were born five children, three daughters and two sons, one daughter preceeding her to the great beyound. The others who survive her are Mary Martell, Sask. Canada; Bridget Esch of Union Mills; J.B. and Joe Bennett of Clyde.
Deceased was a great Christian, an affectionate mother and a kind and helpful neighbor. The funeral took place Saturday, Sept. 6th. The procession wended its way from her former home to St. Malachi's church where high mass was celebrated assisted by the able singing of the Avoca chior. The reamins were laid to rest in the Otter Creek cemetery near the church which she so long attended.
FYI: St. Malachi's cemetery was sometimes referred to as Otter Creek cemetery.
