JANESVILLE - Margaret A. Bancroft, age 83, of Southside Rest Home, passed away Wed., Mar. 3, 1999 at Mercy Hospital. She was born July 23, 1915 in McFarland, the daughter of Milo and Selma (Thomson) Moore. She married Walter E. Bancroft, Sr. on May 16, 1945. He died on July 25, 1989. Margaret was a member of First Lutheran Church and owned Janesville Rental and Real Estate. She was also active with the Women's Club, serving as President, Altrusa Club and Janesville Art League. In earlier years she was employed at Merchants and Savings Bank.
Margaret is survived by her son, Walter (Marilee) Bancroft II of Janesville and 2 grandchildren, Michelle Bancroft of Janesville and Jared Bancroft of Phoenix, AZ. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her don, Bradley; her brother Roland; and her grandson, Walter Bancroft III.
Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tues., Mar. 23, 1999, at First Lutheran Church. Interment will take place at Milton Lawns Memorial Park.
