Wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, friend. Luberta (Moore) Bairstow was born March 5, 1919, in Weston. She passed away peacefully on Monday, Aug. 18, 2008, at the age of 89.

Luberta is survived by her husband, David Bairstow ; four children, Naomi Bibeau (Gaston), George Ballard (Geri), Raymond Ballard (Georgiann) and Michael Ballard (Susan).

Luberta will also be missed by five grandchildren, Scott Bibeau, Michael Ballard, DeAnn Ballard Halverson and George Ballard. She enjoyed her time with her four great-grandchildren, Mallory and Sophia Ballard, Jacqueline and Madeline Halverson. Missing her will also be her step-daughter, Susan Kornelly (Richard); and two step-grandchildren, Erin and Allison.

Luberta is survived by two brothers, Milton Moore (Dolores), David Moore (Sompora); and sisters, Lucille Decker and Avis Glampe. She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and cherished friends. Luberta was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Milton and Ivy Moore; brothers and sisters, Jerome, Eugene, Loretta and Ruby.

Luberta married George Ballard in 1938 and together they enjoyed raising four children. George died in 1972. She married David Bairstow in 1983 and celebrated 25 years of marriage Aug. 6, 2008. Luberta was always a devoted wife and mother.

A special thank you to Dr. David DeGear, New Richmond Clinic, Pastor Alan George of United Methodist Church, Lisa Leahy, director of the St. Croix Nursing Home, and her entire staff for the wonderful care they provided our mother.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008, with Pastor Terry Dorenbush officiating, at the United Methodist Church 2703 Bongey Drive Menomonie. Burial will be in Lower Weston Cemetery.
