Mary L. Apfelbeck, age 87, of Wisconsin Rapids, died Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Arborwood Assisted Living after a courageous battle with cancer.


Mary was born on December 19, 1928 in Wisconsin Rapids WI to Glenn and Eola Moore. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Wisconsin Rapids in 1946. She was united in marriage to Arthur Hentges Jr. on December 27, 1947, that marriage ended in divorce. She was then united in marriage to William Apfelbeck on February 7, 1964, he preceded her in death on July 27, 1991.


Mary worked as a nursing assistant at Riverview Hospital taking care of newborns as a young woman and later worked at Union Prescription Drug Store until her retirement to care for her mother.


She is preceded in death by both husbands, children Marie and Yvonne Hentges, brother Rogers Moore, and grandson Jason Amundson.
