A long-time resident (43 years) of Ridgecrest, CA and beloved father Elmer Moorehead, passed away from heart complications on Saturday morning, 29 Jun 2013. He follows his wife, Patricia Dee Moorehead, who passed away 7 years prior.
He is survived by his daughters Deborah Warren and Cynthia Scott and his son, Paul Love. Not to mention his many grandchildren, great grandchildren, family, friends and neighbors.
Elmer was well known in the community, and probably most well known in his latter days at the little restaurant - Lugo's Grill, where he was a daily patron.
Elmer was a Navy veteran of the Korean War, and was stationed on the aircraft carrier USS Kearsarge.
A memorial service was held for all Elmer's family and friends at the Desert Christian Center in Ridgecrest, CA. He will be missed by many and we mourn greatly his passing for it was too soon. Elmer now walks with his love of 40 years where he always longed to be.
I AM WITH YOU STILL
I give you tis one thought to keep
I am with you still - do not weep
I am a thousand winds that blow
I am the diamond glints on snow
I am the sunlight on ripened grain
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight
I am the soft stars that shine at night
Do not think of me as gone
I am with you still - in each dawn
We love you Elmer.
