Mrs. Ella Mae Beckwith, 70, wife of Anson Beckwith, 406 N. James St., died yesterday afternoon. She was in failing health for several years.
She was born in Frankfort June 21, 1885, daughter of Clayton and Mary Etta Mowers. On February 7, 1910, she and Mr. Beckwith were married in Mohawk. Before coming to Rome in 1922 she had resided in Washington Mills, Chadwicks, Illion, New Hartford, Utica and Little Falls.
She attended church at the Salvation Army Citadel.
Also surviving are two sons, Earl and Charles Beckwith, Rome, three sisters, Mrs. Iva Creek, Mrs. Claude Gillette and Mrs. Gertrude Williams, and one brother, Glen Mowers, all of Frankfort, and eight grandchildren. Rome Sentinel, January 26, 1956
