SWAINSBORO, Ga.- Peebles Curry Durden Mortuary announces the death of Mrs. Sybil M. Anderson, age 88, of Swainsboro, Ga. on Sunday, April 30, 2006 at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Ga., after an extended illness.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at 11 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church of Swainsboro, with Rev. Wayne Defore officiating. Interment will be in The Eastbrook Cemetery in Swainsboro. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to service. Pallbearers will be Jason Lawson, Denny Key, Jack Powell, Jim Curry, Wilbur Stephens, Charles Bo Moxley, Homer Moxley, and Milton Gray. Honorary escorts will be the C.I. Hall Sunday school class, the John R. Flanders Sunday school class, and employees of Auto Parts and Supply. The family will receive friends at Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary on Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.

Mrs. Anderson was a native of Emanuel County, she was a former beautician, and an office manager of Auto Parts and Supply. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, and a member of the C.I. Hall Sunday school class. She was preceded in death by her parents, Judson and Trudie Scott Moxley, and granddaughter Lisa Ragsdale Alford. Survivors include her husband, Lamar Anderson of Swainsboro; one daughter and son-in-law, Patricia A. and Gene Ragsdale of Swainsboro; one sister, Wylene Durden of Jonesboro, Ga.; two grandchildren, Scott Ragsdale and Lori and Bill Bonds of Swainsboro; five great-grandchildren, Brice Bonds, Barrett Bonds, Aubrey Bonds of Swainsboro, Ryan and Blake Alford of Franklin, Ga. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Swainsboro.
