As you can see from the attached list of children, my great-grandmother Ackerman spent a large chunk of her living years raising her children. She married twice, first to William Cornellisson, who preceded her in death, and second to Phillip Ackerman.
In her elder years, she developed diabetes, nephritis and dropsy, her legs and feet so badly swollen that she had trouble walking. Daughter Christine "Tine" cared for her until her death at age 77. The attached photo is the only one I have of her, probably taken just a few years before she passed.
