Marion Murphy Cassiday, 92, of Fredericksburg passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Mary Washington Hospital.

She was born in Ogdensburg, New York to the late Michael and Myrtle Murphy.

Marion worked as a registered nurse for Mary Washington Hospital for 45 years.

She is survived by her sons, Bobby Allen and his companion, Barbara Heflin of Stafford County, Michael Allen of Fredericksburg and Paul Allen and his companion, Brenda of Shepherdstown, West Virginia; her sister, Alyce Murphy of Lisbon, New York; her stepchildren, Larry Cassiday and Carol Richardson, both of Fredericksburg and John Cassiday of Wall, New Jersey and her daughters-in-law, Judy Krech and Lillian Allen.

She also leaves behind her best friend, Nina Hairfield and her close friend and caregiver, Lorraine Alsop.

Marion is preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Bernard K. Allen and Charles C. Cassiday and three sisters, Marie Murphy, Helen Gray and Kathleen Middlemiss.

Marion's family will receive friends Sunday, July 17, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels-Cremation Service, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, July 18, 2011 at 11:00 am at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1009 Stafford Avenue, Fredericksburg.
