Sophie Sue Hepler, 91, of West Newton, and a resident of St. Anne Home in Greensburg, died Friday, April 3, 2009, in St. Anne Home. She was born Feb. 18, 1918, in West Newton, a daughter of the late John Kelly Nader and Azzia Nader. Sophie was a member of the West Newton United Presbyterian Church, where she served with the Presbyterian Women and the United Circle of the church. For many years, she was helpful in serving at the weekly meetings of the West Newton Rotary Club. She is survived by her son, Harry Hepler and Annetta, of Youngwood; a brother, George Nader and wife, Grace, of Sutersville; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Hepler, in 2005; a brother, Jacob Nader; and five sisters, Helen Coffen, Dolly Berestecki, Millie Landini, Josephine Toscano, and an infant, Irene. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the J. WILLIAM McCAULEY JR. FUNERAL HOME INC., 901 Vine St., West Newton. Services will be held at noon Tuesday in the West Newton United Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Patrick A. Sileo officiating.
