Helen Nader Aschi, 82, of Clearwater, Fla., formerly of New Kensington, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009. She was born Oct. 17, 1926, in New Kensington, a daughter to the late Elias and Habose Abraham Nader. She lived in New Kensington until moving to Florida in 1979. She was a member of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church of New Kensington and the Myrrh Bearing Society of the Church, where her father was the first treasurer. While growing up, she worked with her brothers at the family store, the former Nader's Market on Third Avenue in New Kensington. Her greatest joy was caring for and loving her late husband, children and grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Dr. Philip Aschi and his wife, Laura, and their children, Alexander and Christian, all of Lebanon, Ohio, Carole Jean Larach and her husband, Dr. Fernando Larach, and their children, Joseph, Helaine and Caroline, all of Safety Harbor, Fla., and Michael Aschi and his wife, Jenna, and their children, Anthony and Alisyn, all of South Lyon, Mich.; brothers, Michael Nader and his wife, Millie, of Lower Burrell, and Joseph Nader, of New Kensington. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Habib Aschi, who died March 12, 2008; uncle, Assad Abraham, who helped raise Helen after her father died when she was one year old; brothers, Anthony and George Nader, and Nader Nader, who died in childhood; and a sister who died in infancy. The family will receive friends from 9 to 11:45 a.m. Wednesday in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME, New Kensington. A funeral service will follow at noon Wednesday in St. George Orthodox Church, 1150 Leishman Ave., New Kensington, PA 15068. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Arnold.
