Services Held Here Tues. For Mrs. Alexander


Funeral services for Mrs. Lila M. Alexander, 91, a long-time Memphis resident, were held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, in the First United Methodist Church. Rev. David Hamblin, pastor, officiated.


Interment was in Fairview Cemetery.


Mrs. Alexander died Saturday at Casper, Wyo., where she had lived since 1968.


She was born in Grimes County and came to Memphis in 1903 from Jack County with her husband, J.S. Alexander, who was a postal worker. He died in 1949. Mrs. Alexander was a member of the First United Methodist Church.


Survivors include: one son, Jim of Lubbock; four daughters, Mrs. Ida Downs of Bangs, Mrs. Dick Farrell of Casper, Wyo., Mrs. Mary Cooper of La Jara, Colo., and Mrs. John Thompson of Muleshoe; 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
