Rick was born in Superior on Nov. 8, 1951 to Lloyd and Mary Lou (Bunker) Ness. He graduated from Superior Senior High School in 1970. Rick served his country honorably in the US Army. After returning home he attended and graduated from UMD with a bachelor's degree in Industrial Arts. Rick worked for several area contractors as a cement mason and was a member of the Cement Masons Local 633. He retired from Terrazzo and Concrete Restoration Inc. Rick loved the outdoors as well as spending time at the family cabin in Brule. Most of all he loved the company of family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father Lloyd.
Rick is survived by his wife Rae Ann of 40 years; daughter Lisa (Doug) Widmer; grandson Reece; mother Mary Lou; sister Janie (Bill) Luckenbill; mother-in-law Joyce Zachau; sister-in-law Debbie (Randy) Burkhart as well as six nieces and nephews.
