Dora Anderson, 83, Hopkins, Minn., formerly of Thief River Falls, died Sunday, Dec. 26, 1999, in Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls.

Dora Ness was born June 11, 1916, the daughter of August and Annette (Berg) Ness, in Holt, Minn., where she attended school. She worked at Oakland Park, Thief River Falls, and was a housekeeper in Holt and Battle Lake, Minn., and attended school in the Twin Cities. She married Leo Anderson on Aug. 27, 1938, in Racine, Wis. They lived in Chicago. She worked at a factory that manufactured and distributed dental film.

She is survived by a daughter, Valerie (Peter) Solem, Thief River Falls; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Alice Rodahl, Thief River Falls.

She was preceded in death by her husband; daughters, Marilyn and Sharon; two grandchildren; brothers, John, Clarence, Bertil, Harold, Reuben and Edwin; and sisters, Sophia Magnuson and Mabel Anderson.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, United Methodist Church, Thief River Falls. Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Green Funeral Home, Thief River Falls, and one hour before services in the church.
