Jean E. Kannin, 74, of Kenosha died Friday February 26, 2010 at Aurora Medical Center. Born on December 9, 1935 in Kenosha, she was the daughter of the late Mathias & Ruby (Paasch) Newhouse. She was educated in the schools of Kenosha. She was married to Eugene Kannin and later divorced. She was a homemaker and worked at Jewel/Osco in Kenosha for 12 years. Her hobbies included baking, gardening, and spending time with family. Survivors include 6 children, Steven (Debbie) Kannin of Paddock Lake, WI, Paul (Shawn) Kannin of Trevor, WI, Kerry Kannin of Kenosha, Keith (Sara) Kannin of Michigan, Christine (Mark) Martin of Superior, WI, and Susan (Cesar) Medina of Kenosha; a brother, Wayne (Diane) Newhouse of MN; a sister, Marlene (George) Searles of NV; her ex-husband, Eugene Kannin of Genoa City, WI; and 9 grandchildren, Adam, Joshua, Ashley, Amber, Jeremy, Jessica, and Karalyn Kannin, Bridget Smith, and Anthony Martin. She was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Newhouse. Services were private. A memorial gathering will take place at a later date.
