DeMar "Jerry" Newhouse, 81, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at the Brigham City Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born on August 13, 1925 in Los Angeles, California, a son of Stephen Oscar and Ida Ibreella Hamilton Newhouse. Jerry was reared and educated in Long Beach, California. He was baptized a Christian at the North Long Beach Church on April 21, 1935. He served in the US Navy during World War II in the South Pacific. During the war, his ship was involved with the Midway Conflict.
Jerry married Beverly Jean King on October 2, 1949 in Yuma, Arizona. She preceded him in death on May 31, 1989. He retired after 23 years of service from Parker Hannifin Corp. Jerry enjoyed racing, fishing and hunting. Surviving are four children, Jerry Lee Newhouse, Phoenix, AZ; Robert Steven Newhouse, Plymouth, UT; Bill Gene Newhouse, Brigham City, UT; Teresa Ann Belton, Nuevo, CA; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly and one son, Ronny. It was Jerry's desire to be cremated and scattered in the Pacific Ocean.
