Memorial sevices for Andrew John Newhouse, 87, of Coos Bay will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Coos Bay First Presbyterian Church. Rev. Chris von Lobedan will officiate. Private cremation was at Ocean View Memory Gardens Crematory. He was born on June 23, 1914 in Kalispell, Montana to Enne and Isabelle (Tilma) Newhouse. He died on January 9, 2002 at his home. He graduated from Myrtle Point High School with the Class of 1932 and University of Oregon School of Law with the Class of 1938. He married Lois Jane Littrell on July 19, 1942 in Coos Bay. He served in the Army during World War II. He had served on the Board of Directors for several organizations and retired in 1988 after a 50 year career as an attorney. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois; his parents; brothers, Henry Newhouse, Neil Newhouse, and Harry Newhouse; and a grandson. He is survived by his daughters, Kathryn Louise Newhouse of North Bend, Mary Jane Sheldon of Olympia, Washington, and Elizabeth Ann Olson of Lake Oswego; his son, Thomas Andrew Newhouse of Portland; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
