Evalenia (Eve) Boots, 81, of the Upper Mattole, died Sunday morning in a Eureka hospital of causes incident to age. She was born in Oroville, California, March 31, 1874, ad had lived in Upper Mattole nearly 70 years. For the past 6 months she had resided in Fortuna.
She is survived by 3 sons, Charles Elmer, Ferndale, George Alden, Petrolia, Harland Raymond, Rio Dell; one brother, Samuel Newhouse of Garberville; and 3 sisters, Mrs. Lillian Hulbert, Rohnerville, Mrs. Minnie Shumacher and Mrs. Laura Coner both of Fortuna; six grandchildren and numberous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 at the Chael of goble's Fortuna Mortuary with Rev. Dale J. Nicholson officiating. Private inurnment will follow at the Ocean View Crematory at Eureka.
