Mrs. Sarah B. Newman, a former resident of this place, died at the home of her step-daughter, Mrs. Davis, at Greenville, May 13, 1904, after a very brief illness. Mrs. Newman had made her home for some time past with her daughter, Mrs. Chapman, at Mt. Vernon, but a few days previous to her death she had gone to Greenville on a visit. The remains were brought to Richview where the funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church by the pastor, Rev. O.F. Culver. The sermon was preached by Rev. L.S. Walker and interment was made in the Richview cemetery beside her former husband.
