Marion Beals
ARCOLA -- Funeral services for Marion F. Beals, 86, of Arcola will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Edwards Funeral Home, 221 E. Main St., Arcola. The Rev. Robert Clark will officiate.
Burial will be in Arcola Cemetery, Arcola.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Beals died at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday (June 25, 2003) at Odd Fellows Rebekah Home, Mattoon.
She was born Feb. 28, 1917, in Coles County, a daughter of Richard and Daisy Cleveland Millage Newman. She married Robert Leroy Morgan in 1933. She later married Jim Beals in 1969. He died in 1995.
Survivors include two sons, Stanley Morgan of Neoga and Ronald Morgan of Houston; four daughters, Daisy Sturgeon of Broaddus, Texas, Merna Gilbert of Mattoon, Leta Oakley of Sullivan and Linda Gannaway of Windsor; a sister, Jean Carlen of Mattoon; 14 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, three sisters, three grandsons and four great-great-grandsons.
Mrs. Beals worked at Thomas Monahan Company in Arcola and Pullman Diner in Mattoon. She enjoyed working outside with her flowers.
