Mary E. Ash, 86, of Sumner, passed away at 8:30 pm on November 13, 2006 at Richland Care and Rehab Center in Olney, IL. She was born May 18, 1920 to John Travis Newman and Ellen Mable (Goodwin) Newman. They both preceded her in death. She ws married to Floyd Gilbert Ash on May 31, 1941. He preceded her in death February 23, 1990. Two sons survive, Jerry and wife Kim of rural Bridgeport, IL, and Charles and wife Donna of Farmington, IL. Two brothers preceded Mary in death. Five grandchildren and five great-grandchildlren survive. Graveside services will be conducted on Thursday at 11:00 am at Sumner City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner, IL. Burial in Sumner City Cemetery.Family has requested that memorial donations be made to the Sumner Congregational Christian Church in Sumner through the funeral home.
