Katy, TX - Kathryn "Kitty" Nowell Arnaud, 63, a native of DeRidder, LA and a resident of Houston, TX, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2014, in Houston Methodist Hospital.
Kitty was a school teacher for Katy Independent School District. She enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. She was a ray of sunshine that could brighten the darkest day.
She received an educational award and attended Colombia University of New York for Advanced Educational Reading and Writing. She enjoyed teaching her students and was a volunteer for child advocacy. Kitty liked to run the Houston Marathon, and buying and selling antiques. She loved her grandchildren immensely. She will be missed but never forgotten by all who loved and knew her.
Those left to cherish her precious memory is her husband of 15 years, Dani Arnaud; two sons, Jeffery Nowell Mills and wife, Angela of Silsbee, TX and Christopher Hugh Mills and wife, Christine of Galveston, TX; her mother, Irene Nowell of DeQuincy, LA; three sisters, Beverly Litton and husband, Freddie of Victoria, TX, Mamie Giffin and husband, Donald of LaPorte, TX, and Tawana Nowell Dahan and husband, David of Cypress, TX; and five grandchildren, Taylor, Bailey, Riley, Rowan and Ezra.
She is preceded in death by her father, Willis "Bill" Nowell and one son, Joshua Todd Mills.
Her Life Celebration Service will be at 1pm Sunday, February 2, in Hixson-Snider Funeral Home of DeQuincy. The Rev. Samuel Ashworth will officiate. Visitation is from 5-9pm Saturday, February 1 and will resume Sunday 12noon- 1pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Good Hope Cemetery, Singer, LA.
