Carol Ann (Null) Christensen, 71, of 8379 Anthony Highway, Waynesboro, PA, passed away Tuesday, February 1, 2011 in Quincy Village, Quincy, PA. She had been in failing health for the past 4 years.
Born June 22, 1939 in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of Lillian May (Gruber) Null of Waynesboro and the late Mr. Harold Richard Null.
Mrs. Christensen graduated from Waynesboro High School with the class of 1957 and she received her Bachelor of Science degree from Shippensburg University with the Class of 1961.
She and her husband of 26 years, Mr. Dennis Lee Christensen, were married December 29, 1984 in Waynesboro. They had lived at their present residence for the past 15 years. She had been a resident of the nursing home for the past year and a half.
Mrs. Christensen began her teaching career in New Oxford, PA where she taught for one year before transferring to Waynesboro Area Senior High School where she taught math until her retirement in 1998. During her career, she also taught at Hagerstown Business College, Penn State Mont Alto and served as a tutor at Sylvan School.
She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Waynesboro, AA, and past member of Franklin-Fulton Drug & Alcohol Committee and served as a past counselor for Mountain Manor in Emmitsburg, MD.
Mrs. Christensen enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, wildflowers, homemade items, and reading. Because of her love for writing notes to others, she also enjoyed visiting stationary stores.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by four children, Shawn Manahan Sprenkle of Williamson, PA, Cameron Manahan Martinez of Mechanicsburg, PA and Adrian Kanud Christensen and Carl Brian Christensen, both of Laurens, Iowa; three grandchildren, Joshua Sprenkle, Brandi Sprenkle and Melodie Martinez; one step-granddaughter, Sarah Ann Christensen; three sisters, Sharon L. Warner and Almeda M. Birely, both of Blue Ridge Summit, PA and Kimberly S. Gray of Phoenixville, PA; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 1:30 P.M., Friday, February 4, 2011 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 South Broad Street, Waynesboro with the Rev. Dr. A. Robert Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, in the funeral home.
