Eileen M. Bergen of Valley Cottage, NY, formerly of Pearl River, NY died Thursday, February 28, 2013 at her home. She was 83.
Mrs. Bergen was a former court clerk for the Town of Orangetown. Eileen was born January 18, 1930 in Bronx, NY to Michael and Norah O'Sullivan and was a graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas. Eileen lived in Valley Cottage for the past 20 years. Before that, she lived in Pearl River from 1960 to 1992.
Locally, she was an active member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and a parishioner of St. Aedan's Church in Pearl River. She will be remembered for being a loving mother, grandmother and friend.
Eileen was predeceased by her husband Joe, a New York City fireman in 1983. She is survived by her daughters, Annmarie Donahoe and husband Charles of Brooklyn, NY and Mary Harrison and husband Terence of Glenn Rock, NJ; son, Joe and wife Ann of LaCanada, CA and five grandchildren, Kate, Norah, James, Megan and Amelia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM Monday, at St. Aedan's R.C. Church, Pearl River. Burial will follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery Nanuet, NY. Visiting is Saturday and Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home Inc.
