Joan Marie Cetrone, a resident of Piermont, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on March 7, 2015. She was eighty years old. Joan suffered from Alzheimer's Disease for many years. Her husband, Joe, never left her side throughout her illness.

Joan was born in the Bronx on June 9, 1934 to Maurice and Joan O'Sullivan.

On August 31, 1957, she married Joseph Cetrone. Together, they had three children, Deborah, Joseph Jr., and Maureen.

Joan and Joe decided to move to Rockland County in 1970 to give their children a better life.

Joan became active in the Epilepsy Foundation of Southern New York and Camp Venture. She also was a volunteer counselor at the Volunteer Counseling Center.

Joan loved crossword puzzles, going to the theater, shopping, and going on vacations. She also loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Joan is survived by her loving husband, Joseph; and her children, Deborah Oliva, Joseph Cetrone, Jr., and Maureen Kunz; as well as her grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Joseph, and Matthew Oliva, Paul Jr. and Daniel Kunz, and Chelsea and Austin McCormick.

A visitation will be held on Monday, March 9, 2015 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Joseph W. Sorce Funeral Home, Inc. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Anthony's Parish Church, 36 West Nyack Road, Nanuet.
Interment will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Rockland Lake, Congers.
