With family by her side at her residence in Fowler, Donna Ashmore passed away and was called home Monday, March 4, 2013. Donna was born in 1943 in Jefferson County to her parents, Lorenzo Olin and Fannie Hendricks and she was a native of Colorado. She took many part time jobs through her life including, police officer, bartender, and a tax preparer for H & R Block. However, her full time job was caring for her family. Donna enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and her community. She enjoyed making special plates of goodies for family and local businesses every Christmas. She always had something to offer when visitors came to her home. She was a caring wife, mom, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who would always be there to listen. Donna's hobbies included crocheting blankets and outfits for dolls, reading, and following the PBR. She also loved everything outdoors including camping, fishing, driving through the mountains and the changing of the leaves. Donna was full of life, warmth, and love. She touched many hearts and lives and will always be remembered. Donna is survived by her husband, Robert Ashmore, of Fowler, children Darla (Donald) Butler of Goodland, Kan., Bobbie (Dennis) Jones of Arvada, Greg (Linda) Ashmore of Hugo and Pamela (Gene) Bennett of Hugo; grandchildren Rebecca (Ricardo) Trujillo, Renee (Rodney) Wilson, Keith Rieger Jr., Richelle (Bryan) Edwards, Kurt Ashmore, Shawn Ashmore, Sandi Miller, Lorie (Gilbert) York, Leroy (Amy) Brown, Matthew Brown, as well as many great-grandchildren and other extended family members, all of whom she loved. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the Sangre de Cristo, Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 124 W. Cranston, Fowler. There will be a Memorial Service on Thursday, March 14, 2013, at 10 a.m. at the Eaton Family Funeral Home in Fowler. Eaton Family Home is in charge of the arrangements.
