Funeral services for Mrs. Ada ONeal Brooks, 66, who died at the Walls hospital in Blytheville Thursday evening, Dec. 9, 1948, were held at the Methodist Church Sunday afternoon with the Rev. Marvin Niblack, pastor, officiating.

Mrs. Brooks, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Oneal was born Dec. 24, 1881, near Lexington, Tenn.
In 1895 when she was 14, her parents moved to Missouri and settled near Cooter.

In January, 1901 she was married to Louis M. Brooks.
He preceded her in death on June 29, 1937. Many relatives of Mr. Brooks survive, but of her family the only survivors are four nephews and one niece.

Since Mr. Brooks' death, Mrs. Brooks spent the winter months at her home at Ft. Myers, Fla., and the rest of the time at her home on her farm near Steele. She had been in ill health for several months and was bedfast for several weeks before she died.

The German Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Beaumont Smith, Marshall Cameron, Floyd Smith, Joe L. Dunivan, J.B. German and Willie Broderick. Interment was in Mount Zion cemetery
