Katie Lou Morris, 80, of Franklin, Indiana passed away Saturday, August 21. 2010 at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin. She was born May 3, 1930 in Muncie, Indiana to Walter Oneal and Carrie "Novella" (Jobe) Oneal. She married John W. Morris on January 22, 1955; he preceded her in death on March 7, 1993.
She was a 1948 graduate of Columbus North High School and a 1951 graduate of Marion County General Hospital. She had been the Director of Nursing for Welcome Nursing Home in Franklin, and Four Seasons Retirement Community and Cottonwood, both in Columbus. She previously had been a nurse at Columbus Regional Hospital and Johnson Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include a son, Steve Morris of Franklin; a daughter, Marsha Jo Morris of Indianapolis; and a half-brother, Don Oneal and his wife Bev of Shelbyville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a half-brother, Leon Oneal; and a half-sister.
The Reverend Johnny Garrison will conduct a service Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at 11 A.M. at Swartz Family Community Mortuary And Memorial Center, 300 S. Morton Street (US 31) in Franklin. Friends may call Tuesday, August 24, 2010 from $ P.M. until 9 P.M. at the mortuary. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
