Amelia was the daughter of the late Judson Jones and Sue Oram Schroding, and granddaughter of the late John H. Oram and Amelia Prosser of Edwardsville and Kingston. She graduated in 1932 from the former Kingston High School and the Dean School of Business of Wyoming Seminary in 1934. Before moving to Edwardsville, she had lived on Wyoming Avenue in Forty Fort, and earlier on Sprague Avenue in Kingston. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank T. Alexander, who passed away in September 1995. He owned and operated, along with his brothers, the former Forty Fort Theater, Luzerne Theater and Alexander Brother's Coffee Co. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Glen and Bill Schroding. She was a member of Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation, Wilkes-Barre. Surviving are her children, daughter, Bonnie A. Best and her husband, Charles, White Haven; son, Thomas F. Alexander and his wife, Alice, Forty Fort; grandchildren, Charles and Michael Best, Suzanne Lynch, Allison and F. Thomas Alexander II; great-grandchild, Rachel Lynch.
