Born March 5, 1925, in Barberton, Ohio, Betty was the daughter of the late Daisy Shannon and Earl Rephorn and sister to Donald Rephann.
Betty was raised by her grandparents, Eleanora Kallmyer and Henry Rephann, in Eckhart, graduating from Beall High School in 1943. Following a modeling career in New York City, she married Ray Oram, a musician, on Aug. 28, 1947, and raised their four children in Idaho and Pennsylvania before settling in Florida in 1976. Betty was an artist and a healer. She started her own business creating bas relief sand sculptures. She was a founding member of the National Museum of Women in the Arts. Betty loved to dance, travel, walk the beach, and play basketball. She was devoted to her family and valued her friendships. Betty recently told her daughter, "I've had a good life. If anything happens to me, tell them I said 'She loved every minute of it!'" Her ashes have been scattered at sea and a memorial stone is placed with her loving parents and grandparents in Eckhart Cemetery.
