Velma Mary Orr Luttrell, age 94, United States Navy veteran of World War II, died Saturday, June 18, 2016, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, in Lexington, Kentucky. She was born April 22, 1922, in Venango, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Rodney and Nora Homan Orr. She was a member of United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.
Velma is survived by: a daughter, Jane Ellen Turner, of Lexington; a granddaughter, Sarah Jane (Samuel) Rios, of Lexington; a twin sister, Thelma Wirick, of Apollo, Pennsylvania; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons, Lloyd Irvin and Roger Phillip Luttrell.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 27, at Evergreen Memory Gardens. There will be no visitation.
