Mrs. Elsie Annetta Adkisson, 77 years old, of Star Route 2, Brandenburg, KY, died Wednesday, February 18, 1970 at Breck-Haven Nursing Home, Hardinsburg., KY. She was born March 1, 1892, at Floyds Knobs, IN, the daughter of the late Alfred Orr and Ida Orr. She is survived by her husband, Mr. Darnell Baxter Adkisson; 6 children, Mrs. Kenneth (Nina) Whelan, Pleasure Ridge Park, KY, Mr. Harold (Thelma) Pitcock, Louisville, KY, Mr. Jack Adkisson, and Marvin Adkisson of Brandenburg, Don Adkisson, Vine Grove, KY, Dennis Adkisson, Louisville, KY; 40 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 sisters, Mrs. George (Lela) Barley, Medaryville, IN, Mrs. Bess Robinson, Hammond, IN; 2 brothers, Mr. Jim Orr, Hammond, IN and Mr. Dennis Orr, Detroit, MI. Funeral services were held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 21, 1970, from the Payneville Baptist Church with Rev. Allen Oliver officiating. Interment was in New Highland Cemetery directed by Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home. Pallbearers were William Wilcox, Shelby Wilcox, Kelly Adkisson, Larry Flaherty, Verlin Flaherty, and Merlin Basham.
