Clara Abbes, apartment owner, dies
Rosary for Clara G. Abbes, 82, of 8505 30th Ave. N.W., will be said at 8 p.m. tomorrow at Manning & sons chapel. Requiem Mass will be said at 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Alphonsus Church with burial in Holyrood. She died yesterday.
Mrs. Abbes owned several apartments in Seattle. Her father, Anton Aosten, was a masonry contractor who built the Old Seattle Hotel and the Trinity Church.
Mrs. Abbes was born here and attended St. Rose's Academy. In 1915, she and her husband William, moved to Petersburg, Alaska, where they were fur farmers. They returned to Seattle in 1948.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Don A. Martin, Edmonds, and a sister, Mrs. Florence Hegulund, Kent.
