Our devoted Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Cousin and Friend, Lucy Ann Bagby, drifted away peacefully in her sleep on Monday August 8th, 2016, at the Dockside Rehabilitation and Health Center in Locust Hill, Va.
Lucy was born April 28th, 1931 to the late Sadie Booker and James Edward Paige of King & Queen County, Va. She joined the Second Mount Olive Baptist Church at an early age and was a student of Mount Olive church school in Little Plymouth.
Lucy was affectionately known as “Annie” and “Lucy Ann”, which was given to her by family and friends.
Annie worked as an oyster shucker and crab picker at Reynolds and Son Seafood in Laneview, Va., Ferguson Seafood and Shores & Ruark Seafood of Urbanna, Va., all the way up to retirement. Her hobbies included cooking, raising her grandchildren and riding out with her friends Virgie, Maddy Cate and Jew Goins.
She was a generous woman who would do anything she could to help anyone, and she will be missed by all who knew her.
She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, William T. Bagby Sr. (Mary) of Churchview, VA, and Randolph Bagby Jr., of Statefarm, VA.; an adopted son, George Rowe of Gloucester, VA; one sister, Ruth Burse of Mascot, VA; two grandchildren, Andrea Robinson (Tom) of Churchview, VA, and Billy Bagby of Hampton, VA; two great grandchildren, Carnell Bagby and Darnell Robinson of Churchview, VA; one uncle, Horace Booker of Westfield, New Jersey; lifelong friends, Ruth Scott and Helen Roane of King & Queen County, VA, Minnie Wyatt of Gloucester, VA, and Albert and Gene Marshall of Churchview, VA, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
