Ruth Palen Boraski, 86, of 40 Brookside Drive, Pittsfield, died Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at her home.

Born in Waterbury, Connecticut on September 17, 1925, the daughter of Jesse M. and Ruth H. Little Palen, she was educated in Waterbury.

Mrs. Boraski was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Church of Christ in Pittsfield, Congregational. Mrs. Boraski was a volunteer at the Berkshire Museum and for the Berkshire Medical Center Auxiliary. She was also active in children's activities and set up a number of funds to benefit the children of Berkshire County.

She leaves her husband, Nicholas Boraski, whom she married on June 22, 1957. Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, Michael C. Boraski of Green Lane, Pennsylvania; two daughters, Bonnie A. Karaorman of Santa Barbara, California, and Deborah A. Browning of Plymouth, Massachusetts; six grandchildren, Lara, Shane, Amanda, James, Andrew, and Scottie.

Funeral services will be private. Burial will be in Main Street Cemetery in Dalton.
